I love them both, as probably everyone does!! The BBQ has to be tomato-based. In NY, BBQ to them is spreading Italian dressing on grilled chicken. (YUCK!!) Man, I'd rather answer the question on the 2008 presidential elections!! I'd pick (Texas, don't hate me!) tomato sauce because you can use it on or with more foods than BBQ sauce.

Campbell has a much simpler explanation of the Cain & Abel story. This was a story recorded and told by nomadic herding people (the Hebrews) who lived in close proximity to agricultural city-states. In the story, Cain the farmer is the bad guy and Abel the herdsman is the good guy. Abel's animal sacrifices are pleasing to God--so that's a reaffirmation of the Hebrews' lifestyle--but Cain's agricultural offerings are not pleasing to God. So the subtext here is, if you want to please God, be a herder and not a farmer. Like the Hebrews. Who told this story. And also watch out that the farmers don't get jealous and kill you. Campbell also points to story after story in the OT in which the younger brother shows himself to be more pleasing to God than the older brother as dramatizing the same relationship between the (younger) nomadic Hebrews and their settled, sometimes hostile, (older) neighbors.

You had me going there for a second, but I would say Tomato sauce, because it can be used with a ton of recipes, which I like to fool around with by the way.

Well, doesn't it depend on what you eating? I wouldn't put tomato sauce on my steak and and I wouldn't put BBQ sauce on spaghetti.
