I have quite a number of friends, but only 4 that I would call really close friends, to whom I can trust completely, and know they will always be there. I think it's harder to make friends as you get older, because as you get older and start to have kids, every one is so busy with their own lives you don't get much time for sociallizing. Your kids become the priority, and you sometimes lose your own identity and become "so and so's" mum or dad

I have one true friend who is a close friend, many friends are hard to find. I had a lot of friends but they used me. So now there x friends. The older you get the harder it is because people change.

I only have 2.
Good question....the reason I think its harder to make friends as we age is because friends are hard to find. When you're a teenager you really don't have enemies its just "lets be friends" type of kiddish thing. But when you're older you can't just walk up to someone and say lets be friends you have to work your way up the ladder because you are mature and everyone knows friendship takes time to develop. Anywho, too many friends is not always a good thing anyway. You can only have a few TRUE friends. :)

I have 9 close friends all of whom I can trust and relay on when I am in trouble because the older you get the more experience you gain and part of the experience comes from knowing people that are a$$es and learning how to deal with them.

I have about 8 or 9 close friends. I think that it is harder to get good friends when you are older because in your teen years they have already 'seemed' to pick out their friends for the rest of their life

I have a few friends but only one very close friend. I think as we move on from school into our own lives we change and old friends slip away and new ones --well, like my mother said, there is a friend for dinners with, one for movies with, etc. Marriage, kids...not so much time as when we are young.

I think we get more involved in our own families and lives and less involved in activities with those outside of them...
Plus we have less free time just for hanging out. No more talking with friends after college classes or high school, we are on to work, or families or whatever.
That's my alibi anyway...
I have about 5 drop what they are doing and help me bury the body close friends..
