just think about what you want to talk about, and write it. they say the first sentence has to capture the reader, and sum up the entire essay, your thoughts and position on the subject. this makes sense, since a follows b follows c, etc. after you take one step, the rest will follow.
say you have no conventional goals and dreams. you might start: When I think about the future, I don't think about worldly success, I think about spiritual achievement. My goal is to know myself and gain a picture of others more thoughtful than a still, my dream is to wake. Before I felt like this, I ... ...

My Dream is to fly an airplane, my goal is to fly around the world. I saw this special on the discovery channel (or I read this book about....) where .... traveled around the world, and I think that kind of freedom is like wings. ... Right now school is a weight, and every day I work to lighten it, with each grade. That will lead me to flight school, where I can get off the ground..

I suggest that you don't start with the opening paragraph first. You should jot down your goals and dreams. Elaborate on those ideas and tie them together. Once you have all of that done, you can make a better intro.

Chill out, you want this essay to come out perfect in the first try, that's called perfectionism and belive me it will give you a massive case of writers block. Why don't you sit down in a comfortable place and start writing. Just let go and write. It dosen't have to be perfect, remember that everyone writes shitty first drafts. It will come to you, just start by writing what you want to achieve or where you see yourself in 5 years or in 10.

Everyone has goals and dreams and they are all different but they have one thing in common; everyone wants to achieve their own dreams and goals. My dreams and goals have changed through the years. When I first started to school I wanted to be (fill in something - astronaut? truck driver? - whatever your childish goal was.) But now that I am older my dream is to be (fill in).
In order to achieve my dream, I must set goals for myself. My first goal is to make a good high school record. Then, I want to go to college and major in (fill in)
Well, you get the idea. You dream big but goals are the steps along the way that you set yourself to achieve.
