Simply put changing your own oil is a nasty and dirty job. After you pay for the oil, filter and the time you put in it is always worth it to pay to have it done. It might take you an hour to change your oil, get your hands, clothes covered with that nasty oil. You have to jack up your car sometimes so it can be dangerous. All to save 10 bucks...no way...
Many newspapers and flyer's have coupons for 20 dollar oil changes and they check all fluids etc...
Good luck

Since you are asking, I'm assuming that you've never done it. Yes it is cheaper if you did it. But only in the long run because there are few things you would have to buy initially (wrench, oil drain pan, etc.) And of course it is messy. But if you ruin your pants and shirts every time then no it isn't cheaper.
Changing oil is pretty simple but messy. And unless you forget to REFILL the oil, it won't void any warranty (just keep your receipts as proof). For the first time, have somebody show you how. If you can change a light bulb, you can change oil.

Well,if you know what you're doing, cheaper for you to do it. The only problem is how to dispose of the old dirty oil.
If you have Valvoline do it, they can dispose of the oil and they have to follow strict guidelines. It's probably best that you have them do it. You can be in and out in about 30 mins.
I have my uncle do my oil changes and maintenance on my car. He's a professional and I'm not. Makes sense to me.

It is cheaper if you do it but if you have a newer car it may void the warranty if you do it yourself. Find a coupon for an oil change in the paper or online. It shouldn't cost you more than $25 at the most.

Getting rid of the used oil is a pain in the A$$. I think it's worth the $30 to have a flunky change your oil. If you do it you risk spilling oil on your driveway, not fun to clean and you have to handle the disposal again not fun to do.

It would be cheaper if you did it, but if you screw up you pay, if Valvoline screws up, they pay. I would go with a professional unless you feel confident in your abilities. It will only cost you $30.

It's always cheaper if you do it because oil is cheap. But I take it in because they check everything - the fluids, the tires, etc. and it is easier and faster.

well depends on the car. if it is easy to get to everything then do it yourself. some cars are a major pain and is worth the extra few bucks to let someone else do it.

do it yourself its good practice so in the future you'll save, than later on you can charge people to do it for them.
