Why isn't the mastitis clearing up? Is your baby emptying your breast? Are you just pumping or nursing? Have you had your bra checked by a lactation consultant? The mastitis is happening for a reason, and while it is miserable, you should be able to get rid of it and give baby all that good breastmilk. If you mean a birth control pill, hoping to stop your milk, think again, it won't always work. As for hormones to stop the flow, it will really only make the problem worse as you will get clogged ducts and be even more sore. The risk of stroke can be higher for some women and if your doctor thinks that you are at risk for the stroke, then believe him. A stroke is a clogged blood vessel in the brain causing death to some of the tissue meaning brain damage. This is damage that can mean you will never sing your child a lullaby or hold your baby, or dance at your baby's wedding. It isn't worth it. Call La Leche League, or WIC or the lactation consultants at the hospital, they will be able to help you get some relief. Try checking out breastfeeding.com for some advice. The breast is designed to heal better while you are nursing so stopping will really make the mastitis and the discomfort worse. I feel for you, you must just be miserable. I just want you to get real relief instead of weeks or a lifetime of pain. I hope this helps you, best wishes and good luck.

Are you asking how to stop your milk production? I'm confused about your wording. "the pill to stop the milk how save?" doesn't make sense to me. if you are asking how to stop your milk production, then stop nursing your baby and try binding your breasts with an Ace Bandage from the drug store.

If you want to get rid of the infection, take the antibiotics your doctor has prescribed you and keep nursing your baby.

The pill itself will only stop the production of milk, as I understand it. You have an actual bacterial infection of the nipple. As I understand it, nursing actually helps mastitis.

But would you want to try to care for your baby with half of your body paralyzed? Just realise that it may be a possibility.

If you really can't tolerate breastfeeding any longer, you should just stop. You'll be uncomfortable, but you've probably been through engorgement once, you can do it again.
Birth control pills that have estrogen can reduce or stop your milk flow. But if your doctor is against prescribing it to you, you really should listen. He's got good reason.

I would find a different solution for your problem.
I have many years nursing experience and have recently went into pharmaceuticals..
The risk of stroke, clot, and embolism is extremely high and very common that pharmacies no longer carry it and doctors will not prescribe it. You would have to go out of the country to obtain it.

honestly, nursing is very good for getting rid of the infection ontop of the antibiotics.sage [herb you put in food] is a natural ingredient.two of my kids i got bad infections.my daughter was the first i quit nursing because it hurt too much.the dr. gave me the pill i had an allergic reaction to it.i went in a coma like stage for two days.thank god for my mom i was living back home at the time.she took me to the hospital.they gave me a shot.i had to go back every day for 5 more days for shots one in each hip each time.and they hurt.then with my son i got two infections.i took antibiotics from the dr and i continued to nurse.my milk suddenly started to dry up it was around thanksgiving.went to my breast feeding clinic.found out the sage i was putting in my food liks stuffing was drying up my milk.sage will dry it up.oatmeal, and anise seed[tastes like licorice and some people make tea out of it]they will increase milk supply. avoid oatmeal and use safe quanities [dr.can tell you.] of sage in most of your cooking.good luck hope it works for you like it did me the pill is called parladol i dont think ispelled it right but please avoid it most places dont carry it any more because it isnt safe. my son we found out is lactos-intolerant like my self so nursed him til he was 18 mths old balanceof the milk supply helped me so please if you want continue to nurse it is the best for the baby, but learn to balance your supply with sage and oatmeal/anise seed.which ever you prefer.make sure your nipples stay clean.you may sweat on your breasts and not notice.and make sure babys hads stay clean.dirty hands in babys mouth transfers to your breasts.good luck
