You must be from up north. Y'all is just a word that we say here in the south. I use the word y'all (yes, I know that it is slang) all of the time and I am educated very well. If someone has such harsh judgments because of the way that someone talks, then that just means that they have no tolerance for other people.

I wouldn't assume he is not educated. Just assume that he likes to speak the slang. Swearing and cursing, on the other hand, tends to bring a judgement call on intellect.

I used to kind of think oooh, why did they just say that, but now that my sister and her husband and my mom have been living in Texas for about 8 years ( I can never remember the exact #), they are now using that. Ick! :o) And my dad was from KY, too.
