Estimate of pedophiles?

I am doing a paper and would like some feedback from the general public. I am looking for a estimated percentage of Pedophiles in our society.

I have read many studies which indicate from 1% all the way to 25% so I am looking for opinions off the street or net i guess.

Keep in mind that a Pedophilia IS an attraction and emotion and NOT an act such as molestation. I am referring to people who have PIMARY sexual attractions for Pre-Pubescent children which are mainly 8-9 and under.

Not all molestation cases indicate pedophilia but can be stemmed from incest or just a person with overcravings for sex and seen kids as easy prey. Not Pedophilia at all.

I am looking for Primary attraction here.
By Primary I mean a person who's desires for kids is GREATER than an adult. Somone who would rather be with a pre-pub child than an adult. It is just hard for me to imagine more than 10% population have stronger sexual desires for kids (prepubescent) than adults.

Your studies will be biased. Pedophilia is illegal and as a result, accurate data is difficult to collect.

For example, in most social services to acknowledge such a feeling is considered to be an exception to confidentiality rights. That is, if a child is possibly at risk, a researcher, doctor, police, etc. are required to report. As a result, the true extent of the phenomenon is unknown.

You may, however, consider using other nations with less stringent rules on the sexual use of children to formulate how common place the activity is.

There are variations to your study that you may want to consider such as child slavery, child prostitution and child labour which may also include adult attract and sexual use of children.

As a social concern, the sexual use of boys is far less reported than for females. You may also consider internet statistics for other nation where pornography laws are less stringent for a truer estimate of the frequency and volume that such an interest poses in the general community.

You may also want to consider the cultural impact of even having access to such information. Of course, socially women are often not seen as abusers which generally will exclude them from general estimates from pedophilia and paraphilias.

As to developing a study, there would be many reasons why anyone would fail to disclose their attractions sexually. Some people are gay and won't come out. It's hard to image then that people who are attracted to children.

I would hazard -- 10%.

One thing i can add is to look for official estimates, they are your best shot.

I doubt a country with lax pornography laws can help. Countries like Thailand and Indonesia are notorious for child porn and prostitution but its usually kept pretty under the carpet

well we should pray to God...to led us not into temptations....we are not gods..and satan is at work.....awfull...when i hear such things...i will be glad to die....

i think we better try to stop this things..not to see..the percentage..in Sodoma and Gomora..the percentage of homosexuality was 100%., except Lot and his family..but the girls too k bad habits..because after the moment when God gave them the life..and killed only the rest of the people..they slept with their father...as they were living outside the city.Lot fearing the city...his daughters gave him to drink and slept with him to have kids..thirs mother was transformed into a stone of salt..because she looked back..when God said not to look back.....

well there are no desires..of the adults ..for children..is logicall...because God..made the peopel from his soul..and God doesn't sleep with us...so it is obviosly that is an irational perception that comes from the temptations of this stupid satan..thye only person in the world i call stupid.....so we must be faithfull to God..and get rid of satan..and his temptations....better said..we should pray..and do good things..

beside..i think that young girls ..should wear decent clothes..should not display their body in public..advertisemnts..etc..God.!they have fathers..how can they wear bluejeans?how can they wear sexy clothes..?
when i met my family..i was wearing decent clothes....i kept my sexy clothes...just for my husband..and ..places..where my family couldn't see me..
once when i was 26.y.o..and my husband 27..he came very surprised..at home..and said..he was in a bar with his boss where the biggest girl..was 19 y.o.
well i think there were younger girls there ..and after a while..the wife of his boss ..divorced ..having 3 kids..and i said is a good decision..well..how can a man look to a so young woman? how?..i was 30.y.o.and i had students at high school of 17 years old..and i considered them as kind of my children...well bigger ..my child was 6 that time..but anyway i considered those boys as if they were my children....well when a woman is after 21..she could marry a man who is 10 or 12 years old...if they love each other...but at 21 ..the body and the mind...is no longer a child....well my daughter i 10..y.o ..and because she is tall..i saw that some men looked at her in the street when she was with me..because they thought..she is an adult..because she is tall..there are women ..as tall.as her..and she is only 10y.o...and fat ..and beautifull..and wear glasses..and perhaps they didn't realise imediatelly..but after realising that this one is a kid..in a second or so..they have to look towards something else....and i also think that they shouldn't show their bodies on tv and on magazines..because home..there are fathers and daughters who ..in some countries..live very closed in rooms because there are poor flats...and they have to look together to the same movie..sexy movie..well i think this is not ok..and i also think that children shouldn't be allowed to watch sexy movies...until they have their own house..and are married..well..is not easy to find the way to morality...so again..girld should cover their bodies..with long shirts..so that fathers ..cannot see their bodies..
once i was at church..there was a man there i knew ,,he was a teacher of theology..he 50..while i was 26..around this..the man was living alone..and had a job at church..and he was a very serious person..he also looked young in attitude..because the life is easy to him..because he believes in Heaven..and he told me....well you have a beautiful architecture of your body...but you should cover with large and long clothes..so our bodies ..are even eroticall..musn't be displayed in sexy clothes..which follows the body line..because there are older people who see the young women...and look at them....especially when they are not married..., or they are divorced...also i saw..that little girls are wearing clothes..like those who only women should wear..like blue jeens and decorated blouses...with decorations..that women only should wear...so i think that children should wear clothes for children..Even the godfather of my daughter ..when he saw the clothes for my daughter bought by my husband ...he said...this is not for a girl of 6 -7 years old..these trousers are for women....well as i wasn't wearing such trousers ..i on the contrary was saying that they are for kids...but i realised..that there are also such trousers for women..well it shouldn't be like this..there were even bikini for children of 6 y.o...these things could draw attention....well i think that yound women , actually girls..shouldn't wear short skirt and bluejeens and sexy trousers..and blouses without shoulders..sexy blouses..when they still live with the parents and they still go to highschool..
actually the boys are far more decent...dressed...they don;t walk in the streets in short trousers even if it is summer..while the women wear short skirs..very short skirts ..in the streets..and show their legs..they better walk naked..what's the use of that piece of fabric?...well..i was wearing a short skirt inside ..home..and had to go to the front door..and by mistake a man was there ..older and i didn't know how to hide..my legs ..but i succeded..while other women..put on shorter skirts..and walk along the streets....well i think this is a lack of respect..for people...for God..for the men of other women..and generally for men...if i want to show something to men....generally..i wouldn't wear short skirt in the streets....as i said..the body has an erotical meaning..somewhere ..and we have to cover it...
