Some people can find out at 15 weeks depending on how modern the ultrasound machine is ..
we had an ultrasound at 15 weeks but he was still too small, we found out at 18 weeks that it is a boy.
(I think the 3D ultrasounds are even more accurate than the regular ones)
Good luck! God bless!

Between having a mother who has been a Radiologist for years (reading many ultrasounds) and a lot of research, I learned that for the best results the earliest is 20 weeks, but the more time you give it after 22 weeks the more accurate the answer. Remember that all babies physically start out looking more male. It all depends on the rate your baby is developing. You have the highest chance of it being wrong if told it is a boy too soon. If they say it is a girl, the chances drop to like 80% at around 22 weeks, but again that is only if the ultrasound technician can get a good look. I had a little boy, I was told that I was having a girl. It took them 4 tries, going back and forth, before I got aa accurate answer that I was having a boy. The longer you wait, the more accurate the ultrasound will be.
Also, there is debate with heartrate. Some say that the heartrate of a boy is faster then that of a girl. Just something to think about and ask your physician about.
Good luck.

Ultrasound is the least invasive way to find out if you are having a boy or a girl. It is best done during the 18-22nd weeks of your pregnancy. Prior to this time the baby may not be well enough developed to get an accurate answer. After this time the baby is more crowded making it more difficult to get a good view.
I have heard of people finding out in the 15th week. But you can only tell if it is a girl at that point, if they can see the 3 lines of the labia. But you usually need to wait a bit longer.
Good luck with the pregnancy

well dr.s wont tell you the sex until you are somewhere around 20 weeks. however if you dont want to wait that long you can go through a 3/4 d u/s place and they will tell you around 16-17 weeks. so as far as i know the earliest you can determain the sex via u/s is around 17 weeks. however if you are having an u/s done soon at 15 weeks it wouldnt hurt to ask him what he sees. you can also play with all the gender predicitions they have online. like the chinesse calander. i have included a link for fun to deteramin if you have a boy or girl. remember it is just for fun.

If you want it too be accurate I would wait until you are at least 19 weeks. the sex is usually not determined until the do the diagnostic ultrasound which is done between 18-22 weeks. Even then there is a chance they will not be able to tell..If you do it sooner you run a big risk of it being inaccurate. I have heard as early as 14-16 weeks
Why the need to know now?

The baby has just started gender differentiation of the external anatomy. Right now, an ultrasound would be inconclusive (swollen labia can look like testicles and a swollen clitoris can look like a penis). Around week 20 or after, an ultrasound is more accurate for gender prediction. The umbilical cord can loop and sometimes look like a penis and then there are babies who have no intention of being photographed and you will get months of beautiful spine shots and no hope of seeing. You will be able to look anytime you have an ultrasound now. Good luck. I have had three babies, it is just as big a surprise at 5-6 months pregnant as it is in the delivery room, but you get to pick names and shop and sew (if you like to sew) before delivery (you will have very little time after). With subsequent children, it is important to know if you can because you are able to name and give the coming baby an identity for your older children and it really helps them prepare. Best wishes, I hope you get lots of good shots!

I was 16 weeks and the radiologist said if I put a gun to her head she said it was a girl. At 19 weeks it was confirmed that I was having a girl, the radiologist here is nice enough to take peeks to make sure for free.

Depending on if the baby cooperates, you might be able to see at 16 weeks.
I've had ultrasounds at 19 weeks and we've always been able to tell.

the baby starts to form its boy or girl parts at 13 weeks...but is apparent at 20 weeks...so just to make sure..dont ask the sex until you are 20 weeks..otherwise it may be too hard to tell any sooner than that.
