I used to think Walt Disney produced pretty good cartoons/movies/animations but lately I feel they're losing it in terms of originality and entertainment quality. I find they are such big copycats. You can see many of their ideas are copied from other movies/cartoons/animations and their jokes are starting to get stale. I'm getting tired of hearing ...' I'm not so-and-so, I'm MISTER so-and-so.' and they always have to have a stampede scene in their cartoons, e.g. lion king, mulan, brother bear. Blah!
It's never an issue when they copy from others but when someone copies from them, they make a big hu ha about it.
What are your views on Walt Disney?

I mean Walt Disney company, the production, the people who work in Walt Disney. Not the guy Walt Disney himself. Geez, you just have to spell out everything for some people.

To flafuncop: I agree DisneyLand is a great place. Nothing against that place. I'm talking about their productions of cartoons/movies/animations... stale jokes, unoriginality etc. You don't seem to get it.

To Warren P: Yeah, I agree. Warner Bros ooze confidence and style. Their ideas are original and in my opinion, Daffy Duck is so far one of the very few cartoon characters that can give adults a laugh.

Err Tessylu, I think you need to take off your Chinese or Vietnam straw hat or whatever it is you're wearing on your head because it seems to be interfering with what you're reading. Read the additional details. For the last time, I'm not talking about the dead guy.

To The Grimlocks's: LOL, you're so right! How can I forget to mention about their sequels. It's a real joke these sequels. They're about as original as chicken in KFC and as lame as 'I'll call you!' LOL.

To Bowen: no need to get philosophical. I'm actually asking a very simple question. Not just Walt Disney, ANY production is not able to satisfy everyone, I know that.
Read my question carefully.

The last Disney property that I liked was Beauty and the Beast.

After that, everything went completely downhill. I mean spiralled into the toilet. The characters even look as if they were drawn in a hurry--no three dimensionality at all. The male characters are inverted triangles with weird jutting chins and the females are grotesque with shapes like balloons stuck onto sticks.

I didn't take my daughter to see the newer movies for that reason and because the promotional tie-ins just prostituted the whole thing too much for my taste. I bought the videos for 'Alice in Wonderland' 'Sleeping Beauty' 'Pinnochio' and 'Cinderella' and we watched them at home without having to buy dolls, fast food meals, or even sheets and sleeping bags with cartoons all over them.

LOL Why do people seriously think Walt Disney is frozen? First off, Walt Disney died of lung cancer and was cremated. He's body is no longer- it's not frozen or buried. There's is a plaque on a wall in a cemetary in California, however, and I believe his wife and brother are buried there, too. Second, if Walt Disney was really ever frozen, you'd hear something about it in the news, or there'd be information of it in a book. And also, I'm pretty sure other people would be doing it, and then you'd hear of that. But you don't because Walt was never frozen. As for the rumors of him hating Jewish people, I've heard of it in jokes, but I'm not sure if it's true. I'd like to think it isn't, of course. But I can't imagine a racist building a Theme Park and Company, planning to go worldwide because obviously he'd have to deal with those who are Jewish.

Unfortunately, Disney has fallen into the category of stale media. If you notice everything as fallen into the boat of repetition, we're not trying. From the Simpson's, to Family Guy, to all the 3D animated things you see on TV. Everything has gone downhill as far as entertainment.

I could remember waking up on Saturday's and watching many cartoons with quality. Things like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Ducktales. Now a days name me a cartoon that's A)funny for both kids and adults B)educational C)worth watching.

Its what modern society has shaped to be. From Music to Movies, we have accepted failure and thus destroyed originality.

The Walt Disney company is the largest employer (including minorities) in the state of Florida, provides families with getaway vacations and escapes, and trend setting technology for animation. They also bring happiness and smiles to millions of children and are charitable in many ways.
People complain about paying 60 dollars to go in the park yet will shell out 100 bucks for a football game or rock concert.
At least at Disney parks you get 12 hours of non stop entertainment, rides, parades, shows, fireworks with memories that can last a lifetime. Disney is constantly copied and must protect their name and copyrights as any company would.
I think the Disney company should be commended for the happiness and joy they bring to the world.
I am surprised you pick on the Disney company when there are gas corporations and other corrupt large organizations out there.
GO DISNEY!!

I enjoy their movies the way I enjoy them years ago. Of course through the years my tastes have evolved.... but once in awhile, when circumstances call for it, I just have to appreciate things with a little slack. I mean, if I have to enjoy something, I would have to see things not in a nitpicking manner. Disney simply can't make all of us satisfied viewers. They just deliver the best that they can come up with. On the enjoyment part, that's our look-out. Enjoy the movie with the eyes (and heart) of a child. I would say Disney has been successful in making me not lose that child in me.

The movies and messages from the movies have certainly been going downhill.
I was very upset with "The Little Mermaid." It clearly sends the message that if you blow off your parent's advice, you'll get what you want in the end.
Originality, nice music, and likable characters have sure gone by the wayside. I'm pretty much done with Disney movies.

I never liked Disney. Warner Brother cartoons were so superior in so many ways I honestly can't believe Disney was so successful.
