Well the cost would give some difference away to begin with if you were the buyer. Also, if you are the one buying and don't know for sure, the store should have a machine that you can tell them to hold the diamond up to that will give a reading as to whether it is real or not. Also, if you are buying it from someone else or just want to check, you can see if it will scratch glass or a mirror. If so, it is diamond. Also, a fake one will cloud up all the time, where a diamond won't.

real diamond - same as a natural diamond, formed by nature over thousands of years. manufactured diamond - real, but man made by pressure processes. fake diamond - not made of the natural carbon substances that "real" and manufactured diamonds are composed of. Can be glass, or many other diamond-looking substances. that and several thousand dollars in most cases.

The only difference it would make to me, is the healing properties of a real diamond as opposed to a fake.

I love to use crystals for healing.

None. Unless the giver claimed it was real and it wasnt. A person shouldnt lie about a gift. It takes away from the meaning.

Knowing that something is REAL and NATURALLY that beautiful, rare and valuable is AMAZING and THAT'S the difference.

There is no difference if the person does not know, or believes it is real.

No difference. Until you croak and your heirs find out the thing was crap. Good riddance to them, I say.
