Put the coins on a coordinate plane like so:

1 on the point (0,10)
1 on the point (10,0)
1 on the point (0,-10)
1 on the point (-10,0)
and 2 on the point (0,0).

Now there are 4 on the x-axis, and 4 on the y-axis.

First, arrange 5 coins so there are 3 in a row horizontally and vertically. Easy, huh? You can make an L or a + out of them.

Then put the last coin on top of the coin where the intersection is. Voila. Four in a row both ways.

Put the 6th coin on top of the middle coin. 4 in each row.
