Have you defragmented your computer lately? Done a virus scan? Disgarded extra cookies? Those are the 3 things I would start with.

To defragment (defrag) go to start, then try clicking run and entering the word defrag. If that does not work and it may not with some computers click start and then search and then clck all files and folders and enter the word defrag once it briongs up the defragmenting program click that and tell it to run

To check for viruses and "junk" be sure your anivirus is up to date and then run a full sytstem scan according to the directions prompted by your antivirus software.

To get rid of useless cookies go to your toolbar, click tools and depending on the version of IE you wuill see in general settings delete history delete cookies or simply delete browsing history. You can also go to start, search and enter cookies and review the different cookies separately to see what you want to keep and what you should delete.

Are other ppl using the same start page you are? If not try changing the start page and see of by any chance there is a glitch with that specific page.;

well its wise to use one web browser, Firefox is more secure and faster that Explorer but can become corrupted when you use both web browsers. With firefox there is no need to have IE explorer, or u shouldn't have IE explorer and firefox together. Just delete IE explorer and have one reliable and efficient browser in Mozilla Firefox

Hi. Try setting the homepage to 'Blank' and see if the speed improves. Could just be the site. Try another. You may have more than one firewall and they may be interfering with each other. Double check this.

Try cleaning out the crap, like cookies, downloaded apps, bookmarks, cache etc. Use the programs built in (under Tools->Options) or try a 3rd party app like CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com)
