I want to purchase a external dvd burner. i dont want to mess with the computers internal motherbords. Does exteral dvd burners mean that its usb compadible? im brand new at this and i would love to buy one. so basicaly can i buy a external dvd burner and hook it up via usb? thanks

Yes, that's a pretty easy set up. Just make sure that the one you buy has a DVD burning software like Nero and a DVD playing software like Power DVD.

Yes, just plug the USB cord form the External DVD/R/RW into the computer, even while it's runnin'. Your computer has what's called Plug n' Play meaning the BIOS will recognize it. However your new DVD burner,(Dvd R/RW), will probably have to have the software that comes with it installed first,(drivers), it'll be in the Quick setup instructions, real easy to do.

Hi. USB burners will be identified as USB. They should be plug and play.
