if my motherboard company says it supports ddr1 can i use ddr2 on it for faster speed?

No way! DDR has 184 pins, DDR2 has 240 pins.

NO as your 1st questions answerer stated, they use a different config, and pin layout, you cannot just "pick a faster one"
