The "Twilight Zone" was an old TV show, and one more recent really bad movie, that explored the strange, unknown realms. I believe that you can still catch it once in a while on the SciFi channel. I remember one, for example, in which this really beautiful woman was having cosmetic surgery to give her a pig nose because she looked strange and out of place, ugly, in a world where everyone had a pig nose. That's the kinds of ideas it explored. So, when people see something really weird and they start doing the theme song "dodododo, dodododo..." and then they say "Twilight Zone" they are refering to the weirdness of the situation.

The Twilight Zone was a TV show from the 60s and each week they had a different weird or spooky story that had a starting ending. It had a distinctive theme song that people have made into a little chant that denotes something weird or strange. You know, the Dee-dee-DEE-dee thing. There was also "Twilight Zone: the Movie" in the '80's.

My gosh, hon, where have you been? "The Twilight Zone" is a cultural icon. Not knowing the Twilight Zone is like never having heard of Star Trek.

Twilight Zone was a TV show that started int he 50s - it was /is considered science fiction and was a "what if?" type of show. What it you went to do this one thing you always do, but the next time you did it, something totally different happened?

Now it has become a catchphrase for when something totally wierd happens for no reason or explanation.

I think you can find twlight zone episodes on YouTube. And yes, there were several twilight zone movies made in the 1980s.

It was a good weekly show that started around 1963 or so, hosted by Rod Serling.
It featured tales of bizarre and macabre incidents.
They re-vamped it in the 1990's but it didn't match the sheer creepiness of the original.
If someone says "Twilight Zone", you can bet it's about something weird, strange or unexplainable.
Twilight Zone is available on DVD. If you've never seen it, it's definitely worth watching!

Twilight Zone refers to a very successful TV series that dealt with the paranormal, supernatural or simply anything out of the ordinary. When people refer to it, it usually alludes to the surreal, extraordinary or totally out of this world, but usually in a spooky sense.

I agree with everyone above who's explained that it refers to things that are weird. The only thing I'll add is what the title of the show literally refers to is the area where light and dark meet when the sun goes down.

The Twilight Zone was an anthology sci-fi show.

Things are never as they appear and it is a shorthand for bizarre incidents that rarely work out properly
