i think for that board you would beed ddr1 and the difference would be that ddr2 is way faster...ddr1 is speeds of 200, 266, 333 and 400 while ddr2 has speeds of 533, 667, 800 and 1066 and no you can't use ddr2 in a ddr1 slot...ddr2 has 240 pins while ddr1 has 184 pins and to the question about which one is more expensive that would be ddr1 since its an older technology

ddr1 anDDR2 memory requires much less voltage to achieve similar clock speeds, which means lower power consumption. DDR2 memory also has on chip termination which yields better EMI characteristics, and DDR2 memory can be clocked significantly higher than DDR1 memory given the right circumstances; three very sought after traits. For a more comprehensive explanation on the differences between DDR1 and DDR2 memory, take a peekd ddr2 are fundamentally simillar.ddr2

Usually ddr2 is higher end.

Your computer will take DDR400, DDR 333 and DDR 266 SDRAM Memory... at 184 pins.

You can't use ddr2 on your computer if its made for ddr sry..

you have to know what speed the ram is currently in teh computer, that will tell you which speed to get.

Your motherboard manual will tell you if it requiresDDR or DDR2, and you NEED to use the right stuff.

IF you already have memory in there, you need the same SPEED as well as same type.

U will not find a 512kb stick of RAM, 512MB maybe . . .

Hi. That board supports PC3200 DDR memory. http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/d865gbf/index.htm . DDR2 has a different slot configuration. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=DDR2&gwp=13
