I'm currently in pre-production of shooting a Indie movie and I was curious. How do I get the rights to some Genesis songs? Do I contact the record label?

The record label, Atlantic, owns the rights. If you plan on making money on your movie, do contact them.

Which Genesis-songs are you looking for? You can consider using 'sound-as', (new recordings, a little different but sounding like the original) to avoid any 'rights' problem.
I'm familiar with the old Genesis stuff, say 1970/1985.
You can contact me about with song and i give it a try.
(sounds interresting to do )
In anyway, good luck with your project.

I'd contact Hit & Run Music which is their publishing company. Unless you are interested in using something from their first album From Genesis to Revelation then Jonathan King (Jonjo Music) owns the rights to those songs.

The best way I know of is to hold on when you hear it calling in the dead of the night. But that only works when you've been waiting for this moment for all your life.
