Arjuna Ranatunga was the first Sri Lankan
cricketer to score a half century in Test Cricket.
Arjuna got 54runs in the first innings
of his first appearence in Test against England,
And , it was the 1st Test of Sri Lanka,
it was played at P.Saravanamuttu Stadium,
Colombo, in 1982. Roy diaz scored a half century in that match.

Arjuna Ranatunga was the first Sri Lankan cricketer to score a half century in Test Cricket.
He scored 54runs in the first innings of his debut test against England, which incidently was the first test match of Sri Lanka, played at P.Saravanamuttu Stadium, Colombo, from 17th to 21st February, 1982.

Roy diaz scored the first half century for srilanka.he scored 77 in the second innings in1982 against england although srilanka lost that match by 7 wickets.he scored 0 in the first innings.
