I love the psp, it is like having a ps2 in your hands, plus it plays music and video clips. And you can surf the web as well. It is a little bit on the expensive side, but i love the psp.

No. the psp is not a failure its great. I bought a limited edition white psp 2 years ago and i have had no problems with it. the difference with mine and the retail black ones is the color of its case but that's about it. All the features on it are helpful specially the WI-FI feature. i can easily download any new updates to my psp from the library or Starbucks. also the battery life span is great for watching movies while traveling long distances. the games are really good specially the graphics.

PSP I always wanted one to try it.. but they are notorious for glitches/malfunctions and felt like you were carrying a huge ipod (fragile) and wasn't really portable if u have an outlet somewhere and Ur going to be sitting there for awhile this could come in handy but if yoUr waiting for Ur bus,in school,at home its not really that great.. If ur interested in buying a portable handheld device Nintendo all the way. but if Ur not on the go psp..
but back to the main question, yes it was a failure it was expected to be the most sold handheld gaming device since the game-boy. When the price was announced it was like buying a PlayStation 2. When games/videos came out and u had to re-buy the movie if u want to see it they were expensive and not many came out. alot of "Dead Pixels" and screen cracking and battery failure, low life span.
But yeah, hope this helps

The general consensus is:
PSP: Much more technologically advanced, more non-gaming features (such as the Internet and movies). Slightly more expensive.
DS: Not as technologically fancy, focus on games. "More fun" (of course, entirely subjective).
It's very similar to the Wii vs. PS3 debates. Chances are, if you favor the PS3, you'll favor the PSP, and vice-versa for the DS / Wii.

I've had a psp since almost release date.
I've heard about numerous glitches, bits falling off and all kinds of stuff...
HOWEVER
None of these things have happened to mine. It's as good as it was when I bought it. I have friends who have them and theirs works fine as well.
I think its worth it. I sold my ds to get one. (I didn't like the games on ds)

yeah... it is...I like both systems, but I own the DS. And that's selling like crazy... PSP isn't selling great at all. But it's their first handheld, so you can kinda expect for it to suck.............................................. I'm sure their next one will be better, and will maybe actually give me a reason to buy one.
