I don't recall if I have heard of hurricanes on the west coast of the USA, or around the LA, California area. Does the west coast ever get hurricanes?

Usually a hurricane is produced father south in the eastern pacific, near Mexico. The waters around the California coast aren't warm enough to keep a hurricane alive. These storms usually make their way west when they are produced, so they head farther out into the Pacific rather than towards the coast.

No. The water off the coast is too cold. Hurricanes need warm water to form and grow in strength. Further south in Mexico toward the southern tip of Baja California or further south than that they get hurricanes from time to time. The water there is warmer.

on the west coast, there are just about on no account Typhoons OR Hurricanes OR Cyclones.... simply by fact the aspects trend in lots of circumstances drives hurricanes (comparable element as hurricane).. removed from the coast. no longer in easy terms that, any that are pushed in direction of the coast will die rapid simply by fact the water modern of the pacific ocean brings incredibly chilly waters down the coast of California... which stamp out something that tries to pass it. in easy terms very VERY not often will a typhoon come to landfall on the west coast of the u . s ., despite if it happens far greater in lots of circumstances on the west coast of Mexico (south) and baha California. age 19

No. Hurricanes require warm water, and the west coast is washed by the cold Humboldt current. However, Baja California is far enough south to have warm water, so hurricanes can occur there.
