is it ok if i put two 39 cents(because price is now 41 cents) on envelope to send to boyfriend in basic training in same town, its late and needs to be sent out tomorrow,

Yes. I do that all the time when I'm too lazy to buy a 2 cent stamp. I suggest you buy some forever stamps. They are 41 cents but they are valid FOREVER even if the price goes up.

No don't do that

Put 1 39 cent stamp and get a 2 cent stamp from the Post Office

39+2= 41

This is a bonus for the Post Office because people will stampede to buy 2 cent stamps and do the two stamp waste dance in log lines I might add.

Yes, that'll work. They don't mind a bit, as you're paying extra. (I've done same myself in a pinch).

Buy some 1 cent stamps and make up the difference.
