Yes, and I agree it's a media 'thang. They have a lot of space to fill and each wants to be the one to get "the scoop"--moreover, they should be scooping up (the sh**) they write.
If all one reads is the daily newspaper or most online sources, one will not get a complete picture, insofar as that is possible.
Pick up a copy of this month's Atlantic (we subscribe-love it) and read the type of info you WON'T find unless you are ambitious and willing to put effort into educating yourself about ALL aspects of what our brave women and men are accomplishing.
I'm fed up w/people who jump up and down, but in fact-know nothing more then they're fed on CNN.

The counts were getting tired months ago, if not years. I'm not belittling the sacrifice of the men and women over there risking their lives, but enough is enough. This is a liberal media cause. If they keep the headlines concerning casualty numbers at the top, then they think Americans will follow their agenda to wash away the Republicans and especially the conservatives in this country. I'm saddened for the soldiers and their families who have died in Iraq, but it's less than 10% of the deaths suffered in Vietnam, and 1% of those who died in WWII. Did all those names of the fallen get put on the front page of the paper when they died? Doubt it. The media was a little more fair and balanced back then.

It is a reality that so many fine young men have gone off to war.
It is tragic how many don't come back.
It would be a victory if the war in Iraq ended, and all the troops were sent home.
No, I am not tired of hearing of the casualities of war in Iraq.
What I am tired of is hearing about Paris Hilton from the media. She needs a reality check.

The death of anyone is tragic but let us not forget what our troops are doing for us-they are dying for us to remain free-there are so many young men/women walking around every day who could care less what is going on in the world, how callous-give the military a try, do something for your Country other than complain. Please forgive me for being blunt, but I don't take it very well when I read something like this..............

Some people are afraid to look at the violence in our country. They have to feed the Iraq story so no one will realize how many people are killed needlessly here. To sell news, you must be slanted against whatever is going on

Of course, its a media thing..........they are trying to make President Bush look bad, [at any cost ] ......trying to make him as unpopular as they can. He could have made a few better judgments, or whatever, but he is not America's downfall.

I have never wanted this Iraq war, as we had no business going over there in the first place. Bush's decision to go to war without the UN was and is a disaster of enormous proportions, which he chose to create by fabricating lies through his then spokesman Colin Powell.
But before that, I did not vote for Bush, and I am amazed that he is in office. Don't get me started....
