~~~ Today I answered the question........"What is the meaning of life?" about 15 times! I answered the famouus falling tree question several times too. I even asked a version of that one myself. Yahoo Answers is good for a laugh now and then. So it's not completely useless. ~~~
I don't. Really, if you want an answer to a simple question, most people know to Google it or Wiki it and find the answer. However, if you want a question that isn't easily searchable (like: (Tennis) What happens when you hit your partner with the ball during serve? Try finding that via Google) you can get an answer fairly quick. But you can get a lot of questions like that on Yahoo! Answers.
The reason most questions are philosophical is because those do not have RIGHT and WRONG, it is beliefs and ideas (which tend to be fun).
You also may want opinions from other people (life examples).
It all depends on your interests. The philosophy section is my favorite, though all the "What is the meaning of life?" questions can get repetitive. Other sections have good questions too.
Actually, the 'computers & internet' category isn't bad at all and, 'polls & surveys' is a bit humerous at times......
Not many people. Try asking a substantive question.
