What is hard work? How hard do you have to work to have the glory of your work being labeled as 'hard'. Is being a paper pusher hard work or being a day laborer. A lawyer or a construction worker? Being single mom or a low-wage minority? The concept of what is hard working is relative.
But upon the assumption that a person has been down on their luck (in relation to those around them) it is just a statistical average that things will pan out.
I think that we do deserve things and the things that we deserve are the things that we get. If we don't get something, it means we don't deserve it. I suppose that my concept is a simplified version of Karma.
But what confirms what we deserve is what we do obtain. There are the things that we want (desires) and the things that we get (reality). What we dserve falls under reality. What we don't end up getting still remains a desire, something we did not deserve.

sure, if someone worked hard then just by the sweat of their brow they deserve some good outcome. There is no why, it's just because.....in life that's the way it works, there is work or hard work and results. It's just like when you make a product, you put effort into it like to draw it, to buy the materials, to put the material together to make a product, and then there's the end result, the completed product itself which is now worth something..

Of course! When my mother was 32 she spilt with my dad after 14years, yet after that she was dating loads! And even younger guys loved being around a mature woman because it's a ego boost for them (they was like 21-25) how she got this attention you ask?... Going out at weekends to the pub! Dressing up even if it's to town, present yourself like a lady... A little bit slutty but don't give too much away, (dresses the show cleavage or cover the cleavage and show your legs, one or the other or it's too much) Dating sites too! Keep fit :) good look x

It sounds like you are referring to a sense of entitlement that some people feel. "I worked hard... I deserve a promotion". Whereas others (such as you and I perhaps), say "I've worked hard... someday I'll earn a promotion". I'm with you, nobody deserves anything, they earn it.

No, to 'deserve" something kind of implies some universal fairness gauge or agent. There is no such thing.
The universe could not care less if we all died in the next 5 minutes.

People work both consciously and unconsciously or subconsciously to create certain things in their lives.
The fact that things manifest to them is not by chance but by a chain of events brought into reality by their own actions. Some people will realize the part they played in the results, but most won't.

Every living thing deserves the essentilas for life, like food, water, and shelter. It is sad how many people and animals don't even get that.

Deserving can be described in a variety of ways. "I have a right to be happy." "I deserve to be happy."
Or, "I deserve a promotion because I have worked for it."
This is the question of our sense of entitlement in this world. I would agree with you no one deserves anything.
Entitlement is a sure way to grief.
