Would we still call it Mars if they said that wasn't the name for it?

We would call it Mars when speaking English, and whatever the Martian word is when speaking Martian.

Mars is our name for it. Its not carved in stone.
So if intelligent beings there call it something else, then politically I think we will have to call it what they call it.
We do that now for countries in the world, we should do the same for other planets.

Your Asking a question that have its answer over here already! Does the french are calling themselve Frenchy? Does the Chinese call their country China? Nope!! They use their own denomination and everybody else does it, so why not Aliens??

Not if it's SUBterranean life, no. If it's in gated communities on the surface, though, then that's another thing.

Well, they wouldnt speak any language known to humans, so we wouldn't understand if they were telling us we were calling it by the wrong name.
