Double digit unemployment
Gutted the military
Fired his Cabinet
Boycotted the Olympics
Gas line were miles long
Did nothing while Russian rolled into Afghanistan

Carter is a complex character. On one hand, he seems very idealistic and works hard for many charities (Habitat for Humanity being the biggest benefactor). On the the other, he has anti-semetic tendencies, and a love/hate relationship with the U.S. Carter, in my opinion, was a miserable President, but I always felt (even now) that he thought he was doing the right thing. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but I think his heart is in the right place.

I don't agree. He is a very educated man who does not agree with where America is right now. That doesn't mean he doesn't support the country. He has been very good at serving as an dignitary representing this country. He's brokered peace deals while he was in office and even after he left office. That's something the current president hasn't had any effort or success at doing. He's helped domestically by building homes for the poor and impoverished. If you think he's an embarrassment, surely you think Bush is a SUPER PUTZ because he hasn't done ONE thing that has helped this country. If this country is embarrassed, it's because of the current moron in office.

Carter is a nothing but a sad and bitter man. He has no legacy other than his series of failures. His rants and tirades are testimony to his failed Presidency...

When the Farmer comes to town, and his wagon's broken down, the Farmer is the man who feeds us all, the banker's up in smoke and the merchant says he's broke, but the Farmer is the man who feeds us all. His pants are wearing thin, his condition is a sin, have we forgot that it's the Farmer feeds us all. It will put us to the test, if the Farmer took a rest, and we'd would know that it's the Farmer feeds us all.

no. he is an American citizen he can criticize the president. in fact he has more insight than most. did you complain about anyone criticizing him,did you criticize a presidential candidate undermining Carters authority? were you concerned about the laws that were broken by the candidate.

Yes he is.
He was definitely up there in the worst presidents ever, definitely the worst in my life time. He was an embarrassment when he let our guys stay hostage for so long cause he wouldn't do anything about it and he started a lot of the problems we are having in the middle east now.

Only a determined fool would pretend Carter was an embarrassment and only a severely demented, un-American idiot would deny him the right we all have as citizens of this great land to criticize the government.
