If you go to a bar to fine a mate, what more do you expect to find other than a drunk? Get the point?
On the other hand, not all guys are sure on how to ask someone for a date?

Maybe you should ask the same question in reverse and take a long look in the mirror. Why don't women ask like proper ladies any more.If you act like a lady you can command the respect of anybody and everybody around you without even trying.
It is true the feminist movement did take alot of the gentleman like behavior away from society but that is because Women rejected it after world war 2 when men wanted their factory jobs back after the war women were already to independent to go back to house work so they fought for and won their right to be treated just like anybody else so now they do and they complain about it.I have had women get angry with me for holding open a door for them thinking I was hitting on them they told me off more than once before.Chiverly is dead because Women killed it not the other way around.

I know a few gentlemen in my life..but very few can be found anymore, you are right about that...I think it stems from the fact that some boys are not taught to be men when they are younger...And some value's are just not in place anymore...though I have four children, two boys; one with autism and twin daughters...I have taught and am still teaching my boys, even my girls to value and to respect everyone......
Oh and I adore a guy who opens a door for me....picks up the tab and is all around a gentlemen.....=}
I would rather have a man that treated me like a lady and who had little money, average looking etc etc, than a guy who was hot, rich and treated me like..well what comes out of our backdoors....

If you think that women's lib came about because men stopped being gentlemen, then you need a history lesson.
Problem is women want their cake and to eat it too (like we didn't see this one coming). They want to be treated special and yet equal...you can't have both. Much of what a "gentleman" does for a woman, is the opposite of treating as equals. Sorry but you can't have both, and you personally don't get to choose at all. Women as a group have already decided to choose "equal".
That being said, some of us still try our hardest to be what you think a "gentleman" should be.

I am a woman but I do blame women's lib on what goes on today. We (not me personally) wanted to be equal and do everything a man can do, so why should they open doors for us or help us with our coats, etc. WE are equal so we should be able to do it. Although there are still old fashioned gentlemen out there, I married one. He opens my car door for me everytime, even if I'm driving. He is sweet, kind and considerate of me. So, don't give up, you just have to search thru the toads to find the prince.

My boyfriend is a gentleman, and super romantic, and I love it!!! All the man I've dated have been gentlemen too. I simply won't date a man that is not a gentleman. I'm sure there are many gentlemen out there, we women just need to give them more opportunities to treat us like ladies.

I am gentle with girls unless if they start acting like a b***h, other than that i am nice to them and if i pick on them it would be a joke or i would be just kidding with them and they would know that, and i would never say something like yelling and saying "nice a**" to a girl i don't even know. But i've never asked a girl on a date, the reason because i am not ready for a full time relationship i choose to be single and just have sex, i think its better for me and for the girl cause it would 'break her heart" if i cheated on her or if i've done something wrong and we might end up breaking up, I am not 19 when i turn 26 or 28 i'll consider getting a full time relationship.

I still believe gentlemen are still around..I think many are confused or forgot how to create meaningful relationships.
Perhaps our men are afraid to be gentlemen because someone is going to call them gay..
I'm a woman, and I love being with a gentleman..And my women friends, family and collages feel the same way..Guys..you're becoming extinct..Please revert back to being gentlemen..We know you're still around!!!

You're asking this in an age when the slightest misstep and a guy loses everything he has to a bitter woman, when women can cry rape -- see the Duke lacrosse team for the most reenet example - and it takes years after the man's reputation is destroyed to find out they are lying, when you can sleep with a woman but if you do not flush the condom she will fish it out of the trash can and rub it inside herself to get pregnant so she can collect child support?
In a graceless age when women display their sl*tty not in a good way a*ss tatts as they screw everything is sight trying to be little porn stars and show they can be as promiscuous as the stupid guys they are dating, you ask this? When women glare, completely pissed, at you if you dare to hold open a door for them?
Yes there are abusive, loser, lying asshole loser guys out there too. And their list of atrocious behaviors is every bit as long as women's. But you look at all that and you have to ask why you don't see as many nice guys? We are being behavior modified into not showing it in public any more.
But there are still plenty of nice guys - and women - around.

over time woman have become more forceful and i dont think men know if its the right thing to do or not. it also depends how they were brought up. some still respect woman enough to do the things we like and expect but we cant have it both ways. i know my daughter would never get in a car if a man opened the door for her. its just this day and age.
i still think there are gentleman out there.. they are just few and far between.
