Let's see, If somebody burns a Harry Potter Book, Naruto Mangas or any Anime Manga, Lord of the rings, Star Wars, or any popular fictional novels... they will be looked down upon, and called narrow minded idiots... morons, etc.

Now here's something different... why do most people look down on the bible, and wouldn't give a rats *** if someone burned it? You guys see where I'm getting at?

I mean to me, the bible is just like any other book, and I treat it like if I were reading let's say Lord of the Rings.

But why do most people take the bible, and just burn it, and most people wouldn't even give a damn, but when it comes to any other book, they twist it around and call it the wrong thing to do.

I don't know, I think no one should burn books, it really disrespects the Authors that have written long hours, and put their blood and sweat into the pages.

What are your thoughts on this?

Who is burning Bibles - give me their name and address and they won't be doing it for much longer! Just kidding - but I do think it is a holy book and should be treated with respect, unless it got all worn out and then you are supposed to burn it since it was blessed!

I don't know of any Bible burnings in my area, but I agree...any kind of book-burning, whether of the Bible or any other type of literature, displays great ignorance on the part of the participant(s). You can choose not to read a book if you like, but at least allow others the chance to form their own opinions of the work.

I would care if somebody burned a Bible. It's a book. Books are to be respected and cherished for the knowledge; it doesn't matter whether one agrees with them or not.

NO books should ever be banned or burned. EVER!!!

(sorry, I get a bit obsessed over this topic)

Teachera was right about the Nazis burning books, but they did it for propaganda reasons. It usually happens when a wicked ruler comes into power and he wants to control the minds of the people. To indoctrinated the people with their beliefs. Adolf Hitler said once," if you tell a lie long enough and loud enough the people will believe it'.

No book burnings. I don't care what they are. I don't care if it's the Christian bible or Anton LaVey's Satanic bible. People who burn books - any books - are nothing but Nazis.
