got a 98 audi a6 auto tranny with triptonic shifting. the whole car jerked wen i slammed it into drive (i know im an idiot). the car shut off. i pulled over put it into park, started it back up now it wont show wat gear im in on the dash and if i try to push the gas it feels like your starting off in 5th gear, the engine revs up but car barely moves. totally shuts off wen i go over 20mph. wat did i break in the tranny?? hydrolic linkage? tourque converter???

Probably stripped some gears in the trans--bad deal

Sounds like hard parts in the tranny. $$$$ Probably better to start looking for a used good one
