If you're here to bash Bush and tell me all of the bad things he's done, I don't want to hear it. If you're making sarcastic, or even empty remarks regarding Bush, or lecture me about how he's done nothing good, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT. I can find all of that information using a simple Google search. =)
Now, I'm curious as to some positives Bush has given us. Or links to resources that could help me pick out the positives.
Thank you for any help. =)

To DC C:
I don't know much about anything in politics. I don't know anything bad Bush has done, or anything good he's done. It's easy to find the bad, as so many people are against him. And being sixteen, surrounded by people who'll scream "I hate Bush" because they saw a few college kids on the news screaming that, protesting and complaining without any information to back themselves up, with the front cover of the newspaper featuring...oh I don't know...first graders painting a wall..with the news channels featuring the weather every five minutes..and with a lot of information posted online biased, inaccurated, and outdated...it's pretty damn hard to find any information regarding politics.

Bush has done a lot of positive things for this country and he is not a bad president. I would give that award to either FDR or Carter who ruined our economy.
1. Bush's tax cuts helped our economy recover very fast as it was in recession when he got in.
2. Tax Cuts have helped working families a lot!
Personally I was making about 25,000 under Clinton and was getting back about 1500. Under Bush I am making 33,000 and getting back about 3000. Note: I am a single mom with 3 kids and I work in education in the inner city. This is a huge help to my family. Not all Republicans are rich people out to hurt the world and a lot of liberals are.
3. Bush handled the situation after 911 very well.
4. He went into Afganistan with full UN support and changed things there big time.
5. The people of Afganistan were able to have free elections.
6. NOTE: The liberals say nothing about Afganistan because we succeeded there and it is working!!!
7. He went into Iraq with the support of the Congress and took out Saddam, a horrible dictator that Clinton had let rape and murder his own people for 12 years! Clinton did nothing about Saddam and nothing about Bin Laden. Bin Laden has been around for at least the whole time Clinton was in office and he struck our world trade center before.
8. Bush stands up for what he believes in.
9. Bush does not back down. He is not going to let the liberal name calling make him stop what he knows is right course.
10. The economy continues to be strong.
11. More Americans own their own homes than at any time.
12. Bush reformed education and put into place the no child left behind bill which is improving schools by HOLDING the school administration accountable! ( I am in education)
13. Contrary to what the liberals would have you believe the environment is in better shape now than when Clinton was in office. The problems we do have are because there are just too many people and the sun is burning hotter. (Bush did not tell the sun to increase it's solar radiation either.)
14. Other countries in Europe are switching to conservative governments because they have seen liberal - socialist policies don't work in the real world.
15. With his policies we are bringing in enough tax revenue that we don't need to raise taxes, but people should not expect the government to do things for them they should do it for themselves.
16 Bush created a new protected zone for all wildlife - ocean life in a special area near Hawaii.
17. Bush created homeland security to help the agencies work together and share information that is needed right away on terrorists.
18. It is working - we have not been attacked again - our strong stance has the terrorists staying away - they are fighting us over there not here just as Bush said they would. Many terrorists have been caught or killed.
The only things I think he has done wrong are: he should have gone into Iraq with a lot more troops like Colin Powell said and he should have closed our southern border. In many things the things that have not gone right were by him not being conservative enough.
Read www.newsmax.com for some conservative outlook on things. Read the www.drudgereport,com for real stuff going on.
Hope this helps

I applaud your critical thinking skills, that you are able to hear the noise around you and seek something more honorable.
The fact is, this president has had some tough times. He had 9-11 and hurricane Katrina to contend with. And the war in Iraq, which receives only negative publicity from most media.
I think the President did a good job after 9-11, a fact that has been lost on many lately. And I think the President has kept a strong backbone against much opposition. He is a President we can be proud of for sticking by his guns.
Of course, others have already mentioned our strong economy.
Recently, a wise person pointed out to me that Abe Lincoln was NOT a popular president. In fact, no one liked Mr. Lincoln while he was the president. But now, many of us consider him the greatest president the US has ever had.

Well he spent so much of the budget on the military that we wont have to buy any more equipment for 20 years. He allowed the giant corporations to merge together and create monopolies so that the big executives could take enormous paydays and pay very little taxes. He got us into a war that has nothing to do with 9/11 and has had the effect of making oil much more expensive therefore enriching the oil people including the people who back al qaueda like the Arabs. Of course those things are good for only certain people and not all people.

When Bush took office the first obstacle he faced was a recession he inherited from Clinton. Because of Bush, the economy was on the road to recovery within a year. His second great accomplishment was ridding the world of Saddam Hussein. Here is a link to his more recent accomplishments:

Well he reunited the USA & made them feel safe after
9/11. He created Homeland Security. There have been no more attacks & you can fly with little fear again.
Tax Reform lowered a family of 4's taxes from $1178 to $45.
It lowered taxes & increased jobs.
Our economy has grown - home ownership is at all time high, unemployment is at all time low, the stock market has set all time high records in the last 2 weeks.
Saddam was captured (Iraq tried & hanged him), a democratic goverment was elected in Iraq,
There are others but for a guide to look up news reports check the President's State of the Union addresses. They are yearly & he reviews progress & accomplishments. I
am a huge news reader but in a liberal press you have to know what to look for.
Did I mention even my taxes are lower? just kidding

Even the latest Newsweek magazine had a cover story asking if Bush is "delusional". Read, learn, and don't let the people who post on YA make up your mind for you! (Unfortunately, we all seem to be the "nuts" who rolled to the bottom of the can!)
EDIT #1--If you CAN find links to the negatives, and you CAN'T find links to the positives, what does that tell you? Think, Woman, think!!!!

You said you could do a google search for negatives, why in the world don't you just do a google search for the positives? Having trouble finding any???
EDIT - I didn't say it would be easy. You have to search and search, when you find the information you have to check it out; otherwise you will be reading unverified garbage like you see on this site sometimes. So you can work hard at good citizenship, or you can throw up your hands and just go with the flow. It's your future, and ours, and our childrens'..... and if you really care, you'll do the work and speak up and try to inform others. For your Bush question I'll give my stock answer, he gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Mr. Rogers and that was a good thing.

Eliz -
u've answered ur own question. If you don't know of anything positive Bush has done for u, ur community, or ur country - then the answer is nothing.
Know this, I believe we now have a 1 party system (1/2 are dems, 1/2 are reps) and 'it' doesn't care about America. Neither party gives a Rat's behind about me - so I've gone indepedent.
Now;
Can you name me one 'bill' in the last 10 yrs that helped the middle class? A tax cut of 300 bucks doesn't do crap.
Answer this: Do you bring home more $ every week?
If ur in college or just starting in the work force, ask ur parents, or neighbors.
Are they better off now ?
Does their $$ have the same buying power?
Do we have more troops in more countries then ever before?
Are our borders more secure?
Are they secure at all?
Do u believe ur Rights are in jepordy of being taken away?
A decade or so ago, America had about 15 oil companies - lots of competition - today we have about 3. Do 3 oil companies offer any competition?
Why has Congress let these oil companies merge?
We have about 5 media outlets. In the not to distant past we had several 100's.
Why has Congress let the media centers keep merging?

Positives with the Bush Administration.
1 Diplomatic relations with Lybia
2. Democracy in Afghanistan
3. Set up new department of Homeland Security.
4. Lowest unemployment rate in the past 7 years.
5. Improved Relations with China
6. Highest Tax Revenues in American History
Just a few I can name off the top of my head. Personally I think number 1 is his biggest accomplishment. We will be getting dividends off of that one for years.

I can only think of three things he did that I approved of:
1. Pushing for lower taxes.
2. Invading Afghanistan.
3. Invading Iraq.
Since then, I can't think of a single thing he's done right. In fact, his insistence that our southern border remain open to the Mexican invasion so that companies can save a few points on their labor costs have wiped out any approval he had from me.
As long as his priorities remain business first, foreigners second, and citizens a distant third, he is not only a failure, he's also an oath-breaking traitor to his party and his nation.
