My vote is the Captain of the Yankees Derek Jeter. He'll be a HOFer and he's a great player but I think he's way overrated (especially on defense). You always hear people say that he's such a great shortstop and a great leader and all...these are true, but don't make him among the greatest of all time. He isn't even the best shortstop on his team let alone in all of baseball. I think they would of been better off to have kept A-Rod at short and moved Jeter somewhere else. He's been good for years, but talking him up as an MVP candidate is a joke. He hits for a high average and scores runs (who wouldn't from the 2 hole in that lineup) but has very little power and doesn't drive in a lot of runs. He makes the routine play in the field as good as any but his range is at best average. He's good....just nowhere close to what the hype of playing in NYC would lead you to beleive.

Barry Bonds? the guy is in the 500 hrs 500 steals club. No one else is even in the 400 400 club. He is also a 7 time MVP, there is no questioning what he does on the field just how he does it.
My most overrated player right now is Roger Clemens, people think he is going to save the yankees, but he hasnt pitched for the first two months so he will have to warm up plus he is 45 years old, his stuff is not the same and against AMerican league lineups he will struggle and be a .500 pitcher

Definately A-Rod, or as I like to call him Mr. April. He's by far the highest payed player in baseball, but he's not a very good leader, he hasn't hit all that well when he's been needed, and usually when he has played well his teams haven't. A-rod is out to the best start of any player ever, yet the Yankee's are sucking balls right now. Seattle got good right after they let A-rod go. The Rangers could afford any pitching because they were paying A-rod so much. I'm pretty sure they finished dead last in their division every year he was on the team. The yankees won like 5 out of 8 world series before A-rod, then they got rid of good team players like Tino Martinez, Scott Brosious, Paul O'Neill, Andy Pettite and they haven't one since, dispite having the highest payroll in baseball.

A-rod gets the most attention, and the most money, but if I could build a team around one player, there are a lot of guys I'd pick over him.

Give me a break all you a-rod basher;s. i'm not even a yankees fan and i can appriciate the tallent on that team. Best Lineup in baseball. Most overrated is Dice-K how much did the redsox pay for this guy again. Yes he is a pretty good pitcher but thus far he isn't living up to the hype.

Go CUBS!!! Oh yeah I probably should mention Zambrano means how he is our ACE? CY Young?

The whole Yankees team. They are still talked about as if they are the #1 team in baseball and they arent even anywhere near the top of their division. They might be getting back towards the top but until that happens they dont deserve all the attention.

Jeter. He's very good, he's Hall-bound, but to hear some (many) tell it, he's downright divine. That is overrated.
