yes it shows the cd rom on pc.

If you have the jumper configured correctly (MS, SL, CS), the power plugged in, and the IDE cable connected, it should show up in My Computer. If it doesn't, then it's either a bad drive, or something is not plugged in correctly. If not, then contact the computer genius above.

Unfortunately not everything you install is plug and play. If your computer cannot find the new hardware you can go to the lite-on website and try to find the correct drivers. You may also want to double check you connections.

Insufficient information, what operating system are you running?
If it is Windows XP and the computer in connected to the internet then XP Plug and Play should be able to find a suitable driver.

you dont need the cd to install it, if you have an XP. just pop it in, and let windows do the word. any ways the manuals are here:
