Put tape all over the glass then tap it in a corner with a hammer and nail.

Make sure there is no alarm on the door or window, smash the glass with a heavy object and gain entry before the homeowner has a chance to respond. Always carry a weapon and, if your prints are on file, wear gloves.

Cover the glass with a towel, then hit on the towel with your hammer. It reduces noise and makes breaking the glass safer.

Take a drinking glass for instance. Put it in the freezer till it gets ice cold then let hot water run on it ans it will crack nice and silent.
