Aquarius is said to represent the water bearer, But in Greek mythlogy it is the representation of a young man by the name of Ganymede. Zeus the king of the Greek gods chose poor Ganymede to be his cup bearer because he was so handsome, so he sent Aquila the eagle to fetch him. His wife Hera did not like this because her daughter Hebe already held that position, so she reportedly harrased Zeus until he placed Ganymede in the sky as Aquarius forever. If you will notice the roman name for Zeus is Jupiter, and Ganymede is one of its four moons. To the Greeks, girls were not always the chosen one's

He sneezed a mighty sneeze !!! When he did a big lump of seed material flopped out of his hand. So that particular big lump became known by the sound of the sneeze that made it:

Later it was shortened to Aquarius by people who had to write it down on paper, etc., etc.
