As long as my family and friends went with me - sure, I think it'd be a blast!

Assuming that it was actually habitable and that I could make the journey in a reasonable time, then yes, I would.
Actually it's been a lifelong dream of mine to go to Mars. I don't care about being first, but there's something very space-opera romantic about starting a new society from scratch without the burdens of pre-existing national borders or other artificial constraints.
I've got a deep wanderlust to leave this rock and its hairless apes behind, and start something new and better out there amongst the stars.

No way. I rather live here. Even though my life is a disaster, and perhaps I could make a new start there, I won't. I love this place so much. Would there be beach there? :D I could not afford to left my family and move out to another planet. Would you?

No--too much of a risky expedition for my personality. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of setting up a new government, with new laws...I'd rather deal with the known than the unknown. Our country sure isn't perfect, but things can always get worse. Plus, if you got trapped there, you'd really be trapped! It's hard to hitch a ride between planets!
Interesting question. :)

No, I'm too old and too many people I love are here on planet earth. While I have the adventurer spirit, I'm just not selfish enough to abandon the people that depend on me to populate another planet.

Sign me up. In a heartbeat. We haven't had the chance to be pioneers in a hundred years. To be a founder of a new society is a rare opportunity. To push my limits in that way would be a great challenge.
Would we be able to have rocket-powered covered wagons to travel with?
Peace

If I felt the need to start anew, yes. And I feel the U.S. alone has fallen quite far, so perhaps it's best to start anew. I would like to go there to help others build and start their news, but would I join them in staying? Probably. It'd be something different. But for something different to be perminate...well...that's a different story...

Sounds intriguing! I would need to know more about the planet than what you've described.
