I don't meditate as much as I should. I do a little. My opinion on bud & substances in general is that they are of a temporary nature and are not reliable for sustainable 'gains' in the spiritual dept. Of course some things can open our eyes to the possibilities that our habits have shut out, but other than that I think a 'no drug' policy is best in the long run.

Ohh Wow, such a great question. I think everyone should meditate. I tried it a few years ago, but got annoyed with being uncomfortable, back pain specifically, then i tried recently with a few different positions. Meditation has the power to help the body in SO many ways. You could site work done on monks in Tibet which proves the ability to have a large amount of control over the body itself. From raising the blood pressure, temperature, or heart rate, or the opposite, reducing it. Plus, it's simply relaxing :)

I calm myself and put myself into a peaceful state, although I do not meditate in the traditional way.

Regarding the second part of your question: I have heard it stated that using drugs is an attempt to take a shortcut to enlightenment, therefore, it is temporary and you have not achieved the true state you seek. Just a point of view I thought worthy of mention.

I do meditate.

I have never tried any sort of drugs...so I would not know. Although I have heard that you can reach a meditative state through the use of certain drugs. Although the state you would reach is not as pure as the natural state.

Yes and Yes. I have always tried to reach the same meditative state that I could attain when under the influence of cannabis, while sober, but never to any avail. My chakras light up like traffic signals when I am "stoned."

Yes and I've never tried them. Normally just find a nice place outside and let the world sooth me. The smell of fresh air works wonders on the mind.
