Get a Dell with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and at least 1GB of RAM and a minimum 256GB graphics card. You start with a basic model and then you can build it as you go. They are good all round PC's at a reasonable price. We switched to Dell from HP and E-Machines a couple of years back and they are superb.
