IMPORTANT ICK question!?

I think my guppies may have ick, there in a 10 gal. with a tank divider sewperating the babies from them. They are sharing the same water. If I treat the adults will the babies die?

Probably not. Keep in mind there's fry present and you may have to reduce the dose. If no catfish are present, I'd say start with aquarium salt and temperature increase. I prefer a mild copper based treatment like Aquari-Sol too.
I treat illness with the least invasive means possible at first. I'll go for the "big guns" if the less toxic methods aren't working. I really hate to over medicate (and under maintain).
Catfish don't go well with most ich treatments. The only one I've used with success is Formalin, which need to be diluted to an extreme. 1/4 teaspoon will treat 25 gallons. I cut it 1 part Formalin, 3 parts water, so that 1 teaspoon treats 25 gallons and it is less chance over overdose.

treat the whole tank with a mild but good medication like maracide it is a spot medication so it targets the parasite not the fish it doesn't effect your biological filtration and you dont have to take your carbon out or raise your ph if you start adding freshwater salt to your aquarium you will reduce the risk of getting ick and guppies like salt there is salt in most waters some fish like more than others and some fish need it

The fry should be fine with the medication. I was in the same situation a few weeks ago but with Betta fry and all are doing well with the treatment. Good luck!

no it wont hurt them at all i have three clown loaches there the most sensitve fish to get ich just use a little bit of salt and bottle called quICK cure. 10 gal water put 10 drops its the best.

No, it wouldn't harm them at all. Treatments for ich will be safe for your babies guppies.
