Ok I found dumb laws about New York. Interesting....can't believe some of these.
1) Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 P.M.
2) While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door.
3) The penalty for jumping off a building is death.
4) A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting.
5) Citizens may not greet each other by "putting one's thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers".
Some more things
1)Flower is a Rose
2)Geographic Center: Madison, 26 miles southwest of Utica
3)Largest Cities: New York Buffalo Rochester Yonkers Syracuse Albany New Rochelle Mount Vernon Schenectady Utica
4)Nickname: Empire State
5)State bird.....bluebird

It is the name of a city and a state.
It snows a lot in winter.
It is in the Eastern time zone.
It is a "melting pot" of cultures, with a wide variety of cuisines.
It fought on the Union side during the Civil War.
All of the above will fit for the city or the state.
