She can't die. I haven't heard that she isn't returning next season.....You have to give them credit, it was a cliff hanger.
I cannot see Bree raising another child. Something will happen. I think Edie does not die. She finds out the baby belongs to her nephew and some how she gets the baby and her and Carlos end up with it.

Her character had no place to go. She was never friendly with the other women, and she never seemed to care anything about anyone except herself (even her child) until Carlos came into her life. Carlos made her seem more human and more sympathetic, but we all want Carlos to be with Gabi, so what's Edie to do? If she reverts to being a shallow sexpot, that's old. If she falls for some other guy, then it's harder to believe that she really loved Carlos. Her suicide removes an awkward character with no more chances for real development.

I'm still in shock. If they kill her off I will be a new beginning for desperate housewives. It was a great season finale and I can't wait until season 4.

I don't think she's kicked the bucket, or in this case the chair, yet. She makes way too much trouble on the show for them to get rid of her. It wouldn't be nearly so much fun to watch.

U know from previous cliffhangers that something will happen to prevent it from happening, like someone arriving at the house, or her changing her mind, or the rope breaking....

She supposedly hanged herself. I'll believe it when I see i next season. I wish I wasn't so skeptical. I could enjoy things better if I was.

I don't think she killed herself. The scarf she used was pretty thin. I think it will rip and she will fall to the floor. I didn't hear anything about her leaving the show

OMGGGG i can NOT believe she killed herself!! ( and she really did) i loved her!!! ( at times) but still! omg.. shes sucha strong woman... very straight forward.. caniving (sp).. i loved her charact... im going to miss her.. im really mad now

I don't think she really killed herself. I think she rigged the rope so it wouldn't kill her and timed so Carlos would walk in and "save" her.
