I battled back pain for 4 years with the "help" of western medicine. Physical therapy, steroids, injections, everything they could think of . . . and I was still in hellish pain. Out of desperation I hobbled into an acupuncture office in Chinatown, in Seattle. This little, old, yoda-looking Chinese man stuck me full of needles -- and an hour later I literally danced out of his office, free of pain for the first time in years!

It works. The trick is finding a practitioner who really knows his or her stuff.

Vietnamese love accupunture. and they do work. by the way, there are 3 kinds of accu. 2 of them will leave red marks. the other one is using needles which is much less popular.

Yes I have had success for many things with acupuncture, muscle tension, hormonal problems, pain relief etc.

One practitioner was particularly helpful, and I would suggest that, like doctors, some practitioners are better than others.

I would advise that you make sure the practitioner is suitably qualified, uses one-use disposable needles, and that you're comfortable with her/him.

i love acupuncture. i first went when i hurt my neck, and it fixed it almost immediately. then i went back every week or two for whatever was bothering me. I think that maybe just as important as the pressure points is the action of laying there silently and relaxing without being able to move for a time. But especially for muscle and joint pain, i think it works wonders.

It's worth a try. I did acupuncture for about three months for relief of chronic fatigue, and it really did help. Yoga may also be worth looking into, as well as other gentle exercises and a good diet.

It all ties in.
