what is the roll of blood vessels in the eyeball?

i am making a 3d eye model and i need to include a key of structures and their functions. i need blood vessels in my model but my science book does not tell me what exactly they do. also tell me what an optic nerve does in an eye. pls try to make this info professional. pls tell me, (if u get this info from a website), what site u got it from!!! pls help!

To supply oxygen and food to the cells of the retina -- just like any other organ. The eye would die without it.
