I'm trying to run some experiments, and I'm looking for some good solutions: anyone know of a good way to store sound into energy? And by good I mean simple, I don't have much of a lab and I'm just 15. I basically want to capture sound waves from a target and convert the vibrations to energy, say to just power a lamp for now.

Convert the energy (magnetic induction) from a microphone or speaker into DC and charge up a battery or a capacitor with it. You can use a simple diode and step up transformer for this - you won't be producing a lot of current, but if you charge over a period of time, you will certainly be able to make a LED array light up.

Like LeAnne said. Make a cone out of cardboard if ya have ta. Use that to concentrate the sound onto your transducer (speaker) That should step up the power level for the conversion to electricity.
