I'm thinking that she will really be dead. Her main plot on the show has been her getting in the way of Mike and Susan's relationship and now that they sealed the deal, there's not to much left for her. And, I am still rooting for Carlos and Gaby to get back together! While Edie and Carlos was fun to watch, it never would have worked out between them. I shall miss Edie very much though :(

She's definitely dead. There's not much more that they can do with her character. Carlos doesn't love her and there's no one else in the town she could have a love affair with.
Along with that, there is no way they would have Carlos go save her because that would mean that they would have to show her hanging. That is a really gruesome thing to air on primetime TV. They didn't even show her hanging in the finale (and it was still pretty disturbing).
Finally I think she is dead for sure because nothing really extreme happened in that episode. The last two season finales had really crazy things happen in the very end and if they make her live then people will look back on this episode and think it was missing something the first two seasons had.
I love her character but honestly they are always killing off big characters in this show. It would be more surprising if they let her live because it does not fit with the morbid theme of the show.

I DON'T KNOW! I mean, I am pretty sure Carlos is going to get back with Gabby because you know that she is not going to stay with Victor! Edie may very well be dead! Of course Carlos will feel guilty, but I still see him back with Gabby. Hmmm. Going to be a long summer waiting for the season premiere, isn't?

I don't know if Carlos will be the one to save her, though it seems like she did it as a stunt FOR him to jump in and save her...but I don't think she'll really be dead. Nicolette Sheridan hasn't signed a big movie or anything that would necessitate her leaving the show. Plus the show started with a suicide, and I don't think it would keep that as a theme. It is a great cliffhanger, though, to keep everyone talking through the summer!

I think she is but you never know. But Carlos and Gaby do get back together. Longoria had an interview and she said that they do get back together. She didn't know she was suppose to keep it secret and she got in a lot of trouble for it. I read it in an article somewhere. I don't want Edie to die though. I always liked her she had a acerbic wit and always told it like it is.

I think that either Carlos will save her or maybe they will think of something more creative, like maybe the knot in the scarf will slip. Besides Edie does have someone who loves her, Travers.

I think she rigged the rope so it wouldn't kill her and timed so Carlos would walk in and "save" her.

U know from previous cliffhangers that something will happen to prevent it from happening, like someone arriving at the house, or her changing her mind, or the rope breaking....

well carlos is in making out with gaby so i dunno...but it did show her feet hanging AHH its sooo sad i dont want her to die

i am thinking yes and really i am not going to miss her she was not a nice -person. only out for herself. she messed with mike and susan and she has a son she wants nothing to do with. i say see ya later
