The Ravens drafted him in the 5th Round.

Somewhere...every day...Troy Smith is getting sacked by a helmet-less Earl Everett again.

Troy Smith was taken by Baltimore with the 174th pick - near the end of the fifth round - in the draft, one of the lowest picks in history for a Heisman Trophy winner.

The Baltimore Ravens in the 5th round. Good sleeper pick even if he's short and doesn't have to start right away with Steve McNair starting and Kyle Boller on the bench so he can learn Baltimore's conservative offensive system. People forget he's a good athlete and he won the Heisman trophy for a reason.

Its not b/c he's to short...its b/c the NFL is a thoroughly diff. pastime than college and Smith won't have the skill to conform with it. His passing information particularly arent that great on account that he has thrown for 3 hundred+ yds purely as quickly as this season and replaced into purely avg. like a hundred and eighty a pastime. His suited asset replaced into his velocity and which would be negated in the NFL (look at Vince youthful this season). he's not a sturdy sufficient quarterback, appropriate now he's purely an athlete enjoying QB. To be an incredible QB you're able to be a real QB, which skill pass first run 2nd, so ur suited skills could be via the passing pastime and his def. isn't. he's fortunate he has Ted Ginn Jr otherwise he wouldnt have his Heisman.

5th round to the Baltimore Ravens...

BTW if you look at recent Heisman winning players, quarterbacks especially, you'll find most are busts. Just some food for thought.

Plus if he handles the pro defenses like he did the toughest defense he faced against Florida, he will surely be a bust.

The 5th round by Baltimore, which I believe is a great place for him because he can learn from Steve McNair as he nears the end of his career and Kyle Boller will probably leave, so he is as set up for success as he can be, it will be interesting to see how it all works out for him.
