No..No.. and NO! Adults tend to try to make things go their way when life can't always be like that. If a teenager is willing to take that step and ask for birth control(I commend all who do!) then they should be able to get it without someone saying that they shouldn't have sex anyway and they don't want to feel like they are giving them permission to have sex by allowing them to get birth control. Sex is a choice that a person has to make for themselves... teen or adult. Birth control is a choice also. Adults take over everything... the least teens should be able to control is their sexual health and well-being.

For young teens yes - that is for those under 16, and so still minors, parent's permission should be required. They may not be aware of the consequences and responsibilities of taking them. For those over 16, no. It would depend on the minimum age for consensual sex wherever they were, I guess.
The problem is that the teen would have to be VERY responsible about taking them at the same time EVERY day, and most young teens I know would forget their heads if they weren't fastened on. It may give them a FALSE sense of security then. Without a parents knowledge, and perhaps reminding them, are you sure they'd take it properly?
For those who say the teen would still have sex, that teen would be better off using condoms - the pill won't protect against any sexually transmitted disease. Best bet would be using both as protection.

It's a bad idea to get involved sexually as a teenager. Most teens don't take proper precautions to prevent pregnancy, and if you might be pregnant, it causes terrible emotional upheavals, especially for the girl.
So, it would be better if you have to get adult permission to use birth control. The birth control for the male is a condom that doesn't require any kind of prescription. birth control for girls has potential serious health side-effects, and must be prescribed by the doctor.
Please remember, any male who would have sex with you unprotected on HIS part, using condoms and ointments that kill sperm does NOT respect you and does NOT deserve to have sex with you.

No, they should not require adult permison for birth control because some teenagers are going to have sex anyway. So, it is better for them to be safe.

In my opinion. NO because it would prevent a lot of children having children. If they dont have to ask permission to have sex, then no, I think they should be able to receive birth control on their own because they're not going to NOT have sex anyways, and if it prevents thousands of teenagers getting pregnant, then I say they should be allowed to get it with or without permission from their parents.

No because it would prevent so many teen pregnancies. However, I believe in waiting for marriage. There are too many illegitimate children in the world and STD's. That way a girl can give her future husband the best gift....purity.

Yes, they should have their parents permission. They are legally not adults, and their parents are still responsible. If the parenting is done right, the children will have no problem bringing up the subject and asking for advise.

Absolutely. You cant even get a tylenol from the school nurse without parental permission. There are some HORRIFIC side effects---not to mention moral complications.

no, because some parents will say just don't have sex. Teens need the option to get birth control without parental consent because they won't ask, and will then be at higher risk for pregnancy

I think so it's medication either way you look at it. And a parent needs to know in case of an emergency any meds thier child might be taking.
