In virtually every traditional culture, from the usual suspects (Celtic, Norse) to the more obscure (Tsilagi, Mexican, Icelandic) there are stories of "little people" and other unseen beings, generally attached to features of the landscape.
One has to wonder WHY.
My favorite reference to this type of thing involves the Icelandic huldufolk. A few years back, they were building a highway, and there was a large rock in the way. Everytime they got too close to it, equipment stopped working, accidents happened, tools disappeared, just the whole gamut of weirdness.
So they called out a "troll-woman," or witch if you prefer.
To talk to the huldufolk in the rock.
And she did, and told them that while the huldufolk no longer lived in that rock, they USED to, and were sentimental about it, and didn't want to see it just blown up. So . . . the highway crew followed the instructions of the huldufolk, as related by the witch (who's on STAFF, btw) and everything was fine after that. Highway got built.
Think about that for a sec.
In the 20th century, a modern industrial nation called upon a witch to talk to unseen beings about a rock, and listened to what she told them.
It's a large world.

Sylvia Brown says they exist....I've never seen any. People say with all the technology we have today that we are "to into" we don't stop & appreciate all of the nature surrounding us. If we did, we'd noticed the fairies, gnomes, etc. She calims to have seen a fairy in England. Who knows?? Makes you wonder, did someone make them up, or did they exist at one time???

No according to research and science... But I wish they do with all my being and in my heart I believe they do. I love Fairies they are wonderful creatures that grant wishes. The thought of fairies just brightens up my day that is why I love fantasy.

Yes
Faeries are the physical manifestation of an elemental being. It can be of air, water, earth, fire, or spirit. I think they are seen however, our adult mind can't see them. HAHAHAAAH look how many people here have said no.
I think others, children and some animals, can see them. I also believe you can encourage them to "live" near you. Helping to create a better place to live.
Obviously, this is all just me beliefs as I have no physical proof of them.

It is of Irish Folklore that Fairies are fallen angels who were not bad enough to send to hell, but a bit too mischievous to stay in heaven. So, they sent them to Eire which is a bit of both.

No, but vampires do. Vampires live in all countries, sucking up the economic lifeblood of nations while souring their culture. They usually pretend to be a religious group to avoid what they call "unjustified persecution." Benjamin Franklin had them figured out, though, 'way back in the days of the American revolution.

Why on earth would you think they do? There is no evidence for their existence. No one has every photographed one (except for fake photos), recorded their voices, found any remains or any other physical traces. They are just a charming myth.

Yes! They exist on another plane though. So you can't see them unless you go there.
