It would be easy to just go with a wireless solution, especially if you have a notebook computer to use also. Then you don't take the chance of people/pets tripping over your cable, if not, than you can get a "extender". One is called a RJ45 male-male couple. You can get one at lowes/home deopt, staples, office max. Pretty much any ware that sells Cat5 cable and RJ45 Jacks. Or you could get a Ethernet switch, and an other cat 5 cable to get them connected.

I just bought the NetGear Powerline HDX101.. It is an ethernet adapter that would use the wiring in your home to transfer the internet connection to another part of the house.. You could even use it for a wireless connection.. I can't wait to start using it :P

Hope this helps & good luck,
p.s. You plug one of those in a power socket near the modem router and plug an enthernet cable in it, and then just plug the other anywhere in your home and plug the cable to your computer.. Simple plug & play fun lol

Yes at home depot they sell a connector that two connect too together. It cost cost around $6.00. Or even try radioshack ,they should carry it. Just tell them I am looking for a connector that can put two ethernet cables together and make one.

There is a CAT5 female to female adaptor which you then add a second cable to. (Assuming these are patch cables with their own Plug each end.) If it is a hardwired connection just buy a patch cable.

i'm undecided what you attempt to do, precisely. in case you get low-loss coax it may artwork. you will choose climate-tite 'f' fittings and an 'f' barrel to enlarge the present coax. television alerts do no longer run over cat 5 cable. mutually as I even have heard of platforms that provide help to connect an off-the-air antenna on your place wiring I doubt if it may artwork for this reason. The sign from the LNB in the satellite tv for pc dish isn't in an identical frequency variety as off-the-air television. you may additionally could desire to be related to an identical wiring run at your television as a results of fact the sign is plugged into close to the antenna. In a dorm or comparable difficulty, this could be very no longer likely. Sorry, yet i do no longer see any thank you to do it in need of extending the coax sufficient to attain certainly one of your homestead windows. possibly somebody else could have greater advice or a greater suitable thought.

A female to female RJ-45 coupler is what you are looking for. You can get them anywhere cat5 wires are sold (Walmart, Staples, etc.). It will set you back about three to six bucks.
