As a tech in the business, I highly reccommend registry editing only if you are extremely familiar with Windows and how the registry is utilized. Most registry cleaners do more harm than good. The best way to remove is to use the documented way that CA provides. Since I do not know your version, here is a site that will help you get started.

Deleting "computer associate's antivirus", will not remove the program from you pc. You have to remove all the associated registry keys.

Go to start, run and type in "regedit", (minus the quote) marks", and double click on "ok", this will open your registry. open Hkey current user, open software and you will see all your listed software installed. Look for the registry keys associated with the antivirus program that you want to remove and delete them.

Here is an excellent free program that you can download and run. I use this program my self and it is 100% clean and never makes any mistakes cleaning your HDD, or cleaning up issues with your registry. Will back up cleaned registry keys to your documents.
