It is about time that all parties with a stake in this region pulled their heads out of the sand & realised that until this issue is addressed then long term peace isn't possible.

The west can't wipe its' hands of it .....by their consent to the formation of the state of Israel without looking at these consequences , they also have contributed to this situation.

This latest flareup in the north of Lebanon is a cost that Lebanon should not have to pay ......it is a problem not caused by them !

If it is a threat or inconvenience to Israelis , tough luck ! Why should they pass their problems off on to other countries on the basis that they feel it isn't their problem any more.

Whether Israelis care to accept it or not , as long as this issue is avoided instability will remain .

Yes, it is.

And it's time the west uses its influence, money, and military power to make the Israelis accept that they committed a grave wrong in 1948. They have no right to steal land from others on the basis of what the Nazis did to them. The world, and surely not the Palestinians, does not owe the zionists a living or a place to live!

Well, there's one small problem with your idea: many of these same Palestinians would love nothing more than to see every Israeli Jew lying dead on the bottom of the Sea. So if we Israelis take them in (and I am ignoring many other problems that would ensue), wouldn't this be a bit- how do I say this- suicidal? I for one would rather not kill myself.

In an ideal world, Israelis and Palestinians would get along and we wouldn't have to worry about the Hamases, Islamic Jihads and Fatah Islams of the world. In such a scenario, I would be much more ammenable to a Palestinian right of return that is reasonable for both sides (i.e., one in which Israel wouldn't be essentially forced to commit state-suicide).

let's keep in mind that the army is fighting fateh, which the palestinians have severed any association with.
fateh are supported and funded by the syrian regime, at this point it would be unfair to point fingers at the rest of the palestinians in Lebanon.

We need to help the Palestinians. They have been shut down by everyone else.

If you want that you should start pressuring Hammas and Fatah to finally create a Palestinian state for them to go back to.
